Jackass Meadow
Scenic Byway Tour Day Information
by Chairman Jack
We will meet Saturday morning July 11th, at 8:00am to start our tour day at the Bass Lake Pines Village in the upper Pines parking lot (behind the Shell gas station). Here we will receive instructions and an overview of our day. Bring water to drink, a sack lunch, sunscreen, and plan to spend the whole day with us.
We will be touring the “high side” of the Byway up Beasore Road to Cold Springs Summit, Globe Rock, Portuguese Overlook and Jackass Meadow. We’ll relax and have our sack lunch at Bowler Group Camp (there are bathroom facilities there). Finally, we will stop at Jones Store for a snack on the way back. There will be no actual hiking on this tour.
Also save the date of August 8th for a Byway work day. More information will be forthcoming as plans are firmed up.
